ORGANIZED GOVERNMENT IN EGYPT
Ancient Egypt was controlled by one person, the Pharaoh, who the people believed to be a god. He was powerful and controlled all of Egypt and its people. Ancient Egypt was a Theocracy, controlled by advisers and ministers, who were almost always priests. These priests had a special status above the rest. They carried out the decrees of the Pharaoh. There were also government officials which included the prime minister, the chief treasurer, the tax collector, the minister of public works, and the army commander.
